BEST NASHA MUKTI KENDRA IN DELHI
Sahyog Detox and De addiction Clinic is the Best Nasha Mukti Kendra in Delhi if not the whole of India. It is the Best Nasha Mukti Kendra in Delhi for many reasons, primarily because it is run by a doctor who himself had problems with alcoholism and drug addiction and has been sober and clean for more than 18 years now thanks to following the 12 Step Program, which is the most effective modality to treat any addiction. This combination of a doctor and a recovering alcoholic and addict is to be found no where else and it is our USP. Secondly, Sahyog has an excellent recovery rate which is beyond parallel and that is mainly due to excellent therapy we provide by trained counselors and psychologist who come regularly to the center. Many people are clean and sober today thanks to Sahyog and living productive and responsible lives. After the initial detox phase in which the withdrawals are managed medically by giving medication, the patient is expected to follow the routine which we have at Sahyog. Wake up at 7 is followed by yoga and meditation in the mornings for starting the day on a proper physical and mental note. The breakfast is followed by a reading session in which AA/NA literature is read in a group. The reading session is followed by a writing session in which the patients initially write about themselves and then answer questions based on the 12 Steps. This is followed by a lecture in which information is imparted on the Disease concept of alcoholism and addiction, 12 Steps and the Addictive Personality traits. The input session is taken by the doctor himself or the counselor. Lunch is followed by rest time in which the patients can relax and nap. This if followed by Group Discussion in which what ever topic was taught in the input, the patients relate to their own lives and share about themselves. This is followed by free time in which indoor and outdoor games are encouraged for all round physical development. Three times in a week the patients write their thoughts and feelings of the day and share them with the counselor in a group and receive feedback. This is a very important session as the disease of alcoholism and addiction is directly related to feelings. There is a mock AA/NA in house meeting and dinner is again followed by meditation to ensure a restful end to the day. This is how the day is structured and the basis of therapy is group and behavior therapy. The aim of all the sessions is to make the person realize that the way he was drinking alcohol or using drugs is wrong and it is in his best interest to give it up. We have a cliche that it is not difficult to stop but difficult to stay stopped and that is what we teach in therapy, i.e., how to stay stopped and prevent any relapses as the nature of disease is that it is a chronic and releasable disease.
